How do I archive a class?

You can archive any of your Quill classes at any time by navigating to the Active Classes page in the My Classes tab.

On the Active Classes page, click on the class that you would like to archive and click the Archive button.

When you click the Archive button, a form asking you to confirm whether or not you would like to archive this class will appear. This form communicates that if this class is archived, the data associated with this archived class will be archived.

Tip πŸ’‘ When you archive a class, you will be able to see the class and unarchive the class on the Archived Classes page in the My Classes tab

What happens to student data when a class is archived?

Archiving a class in Quill will remove any data associated with the students rostered in this class and will remove this class from your students' Quill accounts, so be sure that you've completely wrapped up work with a Quill class before you archive it.

How do I unarchive a class?

If you would like to unarchive a class that was previously archived, please navigate to the Archived Classes page in the My Classes tab.

Then, find the class you would like to unarchive and click the Un-archive button for that class.

This will unarchive the class, move the class back to the Active Classes page in the My Classes tab, and restore students' access to that class in their Quill accounts. To restore the class's data, please reach out to support@quill.org and let us know the name of the class whose data you would like restored.

Tip πŸ’‘ For ideas about how to wrap up the school year with Quill, please see this Teacher Center article!

When do I archive a class?

  • If you've accidentally created a class or created a duplicate class, can archive the class.

  • At the end of the school year, you can archive a class to remove any clutter from your Quill account and to prepare your Quill account for the coming school year.

  • If you are at the end of a semester and have semester-long courses, you can archive a class to remove any clutter from your Quill account and to prepare your Quill account for the coming semester.
