Overview
School districts that were previously syncing with Quill via Clever’s Secure Sync can now manage district implementations using Clever Library. Since Clever is now charging Quill for Secure Sync, we cannot provide this access for free to schools, but you can still manage a district-wide implementation using Clever Library. If you are interested in a Quill Premium subscription, Secure Sync is provided as part of all Quill School Premium subscriptions. You can learn more about our pricing at quill.org/premium.
Note about privacy protection
Quill, alongside all other Clever Library tools, are signatories and committed to Clever’s Universal Data Sharing Agreement, which protects student data. You can learn more about our own commitment to student privacy in Quill’s Privacy Policy.
Share Quill with your teachers
While you cannot assign a tool using Clever Library, you can recommend it to educators. You can do so by going to the app store, searching for Quill.org, and then clicking on the recommendation button. Here’s what this interface looks like, and we’ve written out a message that you can modify and send to your teachers. Please see the template below.
Quill.org Message Template
“Educators, we are sharing Quill.org as a recommended ELA resource. Quill is a nonprofit organization that provides free online writing tools that help students build their sentence construction, grammar, and proofreading skills. There are a series of diagnostics you can use to see which skills your students would benefit from extra practice on, and you can then assign activities to those students.
Each activity takes 10-15 minutes, and as students are working, Quill automatically grades the writing and provides feedback and hints to help students improve it. Quill provides immediate feedback so that students can continually revise and improve their writing. They now offer more than 800 free activities, as well as free PD webinars on getting started, implementing sentence-level writing strategies, and using data.”
Recommend Quill to teachers
To find Quill, go to the app store and type Quill.org into the search field. Then, click on Quill.org.
From the Quill.org profile, click on the Share with teachers button to recommend Quill to your teachers.
Save Quill as a recommended resource
When you recommend Quill, this will send a one-time message to teachers. If you would like to flag Quill as a resource for educators, you can do so from the Clever Library settings page.
From the library settings page, click on the Recommend tab, and then type Quill.org into the Search resources by name field. You can append a note, and you’re welcome to use the message template below.

Monitor Quill usage in the Clever Dashboard
As a district administrator, you can see all of your teacher-adopted applications, including which resources have been installed and used. Furthermore, you can control how student data is treated.
If you’re interested in seeing detailed information about how your students and teachers are using Quill, you can purchase a Quill Premium subscription to access school-wide and district-wide analytics. You can learn more about these reports and reach out to us at quill.org/premium.
