If your school or district has purchased School/District Premium and does not integrate with Google Classroom or Clever, you can follow these steps to create your account and classes manually.

Manually sign up for Quill
To manually sign up for a Quill account, navigate to Quill's sign up page. Then, enter your first name, last name, and email, and create your own password.
When signing up for your Quill account, you will be prompted to link it to your school. Use your school name or zip code to search for your school.

This is an important step. Linking to your school grants you access to your School/District Premium subscription, unlocking access to Quill Premium data reports and priority when reaching out to Quill's Support Team.
Manually log into Quill
To log into your Quill account, you will navigate to this login page, enter your username and password, and click the Log in button.
Manually create classes and roster students
Navigate to the Manage Classes page. Click the green Create a class button to get started.
In the form that subsequently appears, name your class and select your class' grade level. The class is assigned a random and unique two-word class code. If you’d like to reset the code, click the green Reset link. Lastly, click the Create class, next button.
Next, you'll see two options to add students to your class.
Option 1: Invite students to create accounts for themselves
Choose the Students create their own accounts option to get a unique link to share with students so that they can create their own usernames and passwords. This option is recommended for students who are familiar with creating accounts on websites.
Click the Copy button to copy your shareable link and share it via email, add it to your learning management system, or write it on your whiteboard. When students visit this link, they will be asked to create a Quill account and will be automatically added to your class in Quill.
Option Two: Create accounts for students
Alternatively, you can choose the Create accounts for students option if you would like to add students by first and last names and have Quill generate a username and password combination for each student.
When you select this option, add each student with their first and last name and click the Add button. When you click the Add button, Quill will generate a username that follows the pattern firstname.lastname@class-code and a password that defaults to their lass cap Once you have added all of your students, click the Next button.
You can then download a PDF document with students' usernames and passwords by clicking the Download PDF button for the class. Lastly, click the Done button to finish creating this class.
How students manually log into Quill
To log into their Quill accounts, students will navigate to this login page, enter their username and password, and click the Log in button.
If students forget their usernames or password, teachers may access their usernames and passwords on the Manage Classes page.
On the Manage Classes page, click on the class whose students' usernames and passwords you want to see. Then, click on the Download student log-in instructions button to download a PDF of students' usernames and passwords.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have a new student. How do I get them to show up on my Quill roster?
Navigate to the Manage Classes page.
Click the new student's class and click the Invite students button. You'll have the same choice to either provide the student with a unique link to create their own account or to create a username and password for the student.
How do I reset a student's password?
To reset a student's password, navigate to the Manage Classes page.
Click on the class in which the student is rostered. Then, click the ellipsis button within the Actions column to the far right of the student's name and click the Reset password option. This will reset the student's password to their last name with the first letter capitalized.
My student cannot manually log into Quill. What can I do?
If your student cannot manually log into Quill, navigate to the Manage Classes page.
Click on the class in which the student is rostered and look in the Log-in Method field for that student.
If the student has the copy, Google Classroom or Clever, listed in the Log-in Method field, then they should log into their Quill accounts by navigating to this login page and clicking the Log in with Google or Log in with Clever button, respectively.
