If your school or district has purchased School/District Premium and does not integrate with Google Classroom or Clever, you can follow these steps to create your account and classes manually.
Signing Up and Logging In
Go to https://www.quill.org/sign-up/teacher and enter your name, email, and create your own password.
Find and link your school to your Quill account. Use either your school name or zip code to search. This is a very important step, as the school link is what grants your Quill account Premium status.
Next, you'll enter your Quill Teacher Homepage and can begin exploring the platform. Each time you log into Quill from this point forward, go to visit quill.org, click "Log in" and enter your email and password.
Creating Classes & Rostering Students
On your Teacher Homepage, navigate to your "Classes" tab. Click the green "Create a class" button to get started.
You'll be asked to create a class name and select the grade level. Note that the class is assigned a random and unique two-word access code. If you’d like to reset the code to get a new word selection, you are can click the green rest button for clicking next on the bottom right.
Next, you'll see two options to add students to your class.
Option 1: Allow students to create their own accounts and join your class.
Choosing this option will provide you with a unique link to send to your students (notice the class code is included at the end). Once students access the link, they’ll be prompted to enter their name, create a Quill account, and join your class.
Option 2: Create accounts for your students.
This option allows you to enter each student's first and last name to create a username and password for Quill. Enter students one by one and click next when finished. Note that each student's password defaults to their last name.
Lastly, you'll be able to download a PDF with students' usernames and passwords. With this info, students can visit quill.org, click "Log in" and enter their credentials to access their Student Dashboards.
I have a new student. How do I get them to show up on my Quill roster?
Navigate to your "Classes" tab and select the new student's class. Then, click "Invite Students." You'll have the same choice to either provide the student with a unique link to create their own account or create a username and password for the student.
How can I add a co-teacher to one or more of my Quill classes?
In your "Classes" tab, select the class and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click the "Invite co-teachers" button and enter the teacher's email address to send an invitation to join the class.
