After you assign an activity pack to your students, students can log into their Quill accounts to access and complete activities. Teachers can also share a direct link to a specific activity or activity pack with their students.

Sharing an Individual Activity with Students

Sharing a specific activity with students allows students to go directly to the activity in question. You are only able to share the activity link with students who have been assigned this activity.

To share a link for an individual activity:

  • Click your "My Activities" tab

  • Scroll to find the individual activity in question

  • Click the arrow next to the specific activity

If the activity is assigned to only one class, a pop-up message will appear and you can either copy the link to the activity or share the activity directly to your Google Classroom.

If the activity is assigned to two or more classes, you will need to select the class you would like to send the link to. Each Quill classroom generates a unique link, so you will need to repeat this process for each class.

Clicking "Copy link" allows you to paste the direct link to the activity anywhere you wish, such as your class page in a learning platform or via email. Once students click the link, they will be prompted to sign in to their Quill accounts to begin the activity. Students cannot complete a Quill activity without logging in.

Sharing an Activity Pack with Students

Sharing an activity pack with students will bring them to the appropriate section on their To-do Activities page on their Quill account. To share a link for the full activity pack, instead of a specific activity:

  • Click your "My Activities" tab

  • Scroll to find the activity pack in question

  • Click the arrow next to "Share activity pack" at the top of the box

If the activity pack is only assigned to one class, a pop-up window will open and you can either copy the link to the activity pack or to share the activity pack to your Google Classroom section.

If the activity pack is assigned to two or more classes, you will need to select the class you would like to send the link to. Each Quill classroom generates a unique link, so you will need to repeat this process for each class.

Sharing Activities to Google Classroom

Click the "Share to Google Classroom" button.

Select the class you would like to post the activity to.

Note: Please ensure that the assignment you are linking is assigned to the Google Classroom section you select. For example, if you are sharing an activity that is assigned to your 1st Period Quill class, select your 1st Period Google Classroom section.

Select the action you would like for this activity. You can share the activity by:

  • Creating an assignment

  • Asking a question

  • Making an announcement

  • Creating material

Click the "Go" button.

Quill will automatically fill in the title, description, and link for the activity. Fill in the information on the right-hand side of the screen, then click the "Assign" button at the top of the page.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will Quill activities automatically post to Google Classroom?

No - previously, you could select "Post assignments as announcements" and Quill activity packs were automatically posted as announcements. Now, you will need to manually share the activity packs to select the options that fit your needs (create an announcement or an assignment, set a due date, the amount of points, etc).

What is the difference between sharing an activity link and an activity pack link?

Sharing a link to a specific activity will take students directly into that activity, and they can immediately begin working on the assignment. Sharing a link to an activity pack will take students to the activity pack on their dashboard. Although it will not take students directly into an activity, it will highlight the activity pack you shared, as noted in the screenshot below.

Sharing a link to the activity pack brings students to the pack on their dashboards and highlights the title of the pack.

Will the Quill activity grade automatically sync to Google Classroom?

No, the activity grade on Quill will not be automatically synced to Google Classroom.

Can I share activity packs with another teacher using this method?

This process is for sharing activities and activity packs with students. Sharing the link with another teacher will not work.
