In order to assign activities to students, teachers first need to create classes and add students to these classes. Once Quill teachers manually create their classes or import their classes from Google Classroom or Clever, students will be able to log into their Quill accounts to complete activities.

How do I import classes from Google Classroom to Quill?
Please navigate to the My Classes page.
Then, click the Import from Google Classroom link.
From the menu that appears, select the classes you'd like to import and select a grade for each class. Once you click the Import classes button, students will be imported from Google Classroom into Quill, and students' Quill accounts that are linked to their Google accounts will be automatically created.
How do I import classes from Clever to Quill?
Please navigate to the My Classes page.
Then, click the Import from Clever link.
From the menu that appears, select the classes you'd like to import and select a grade for each class. Once you click the Import classes button, students will be imported from Clever into Quill, and students' Quill accounts that are linked to their Clever accounts will be automatically created.
How do I manually create a class?
If you do not use Google Classroom or Clever, you can manually create classes. To do so, please navigate to the My Classes page.
Then, click the Create a class button.
In the menu that appears, name your class and select the grade of the class from the dropdown menu. Optionally, reset the class code for the class by clicking the Reset hyperlink. Then, click the Create class, next button.
On the next page, you'll choose between two options to add students to this class.
Students create their own accounts
Choose the Students create their own accounts option to see a unique link that may be shared with students so that they may sign up for their own Quill accounts with their own usernames and passwords and automatically be added to this class.
Click the Copy button to copy the unique link and share it via email, add it to your learning management system, or write it on your whiteboard. When students click this link, they will be prompted to sign up for their own Quill account and will be automatically added to this class.
Create accounts for students
Alternatively, you can choose the Create accounts for students option if you would like to add students by adding their first names and last names and have Quill generate a unique username and password combination for each student.
When you select this option, add each student's first name and last name and click the Add button. When you click the Add button, Quill will generate a unique username that defaults to the pattern of the student's first name, a period, the student's last name, the @ symbol, and the class code of the class with the two words separated by a dash and a password that defaults to the student's last name with the first letter capitalized.
Tip 💡 For a class with the class code, class-code, and a student with the name, Demo Student, their username will be demo.student@class-code, and their password will be Student.
Once you have added all of your students, click the Next button.
Lastly, you may download a PDF with students' usernames and passwords by clicking the Download PDF button for the class. To finish creating the class,, click the Done button.
