A Quill Diagnostic helps you find gaps in students' writing skills. Our diagnostics cover vital sentence construction skills and generate personalized learning plans of Quill activities based on your students‘ Quill Diagnostic performances.

Assign one of our Baseline Diagnostics to assess 8 - 10 distinct writing skills. The results allow you to check where students stand at the beginning of their Quill journey. After students complete a Quill Diagnostic, you can review responses to prompts, see individual and class skill proficiencies, and assign personalized plans of follow-up practice recommendation activities to your students through our Diagnostics report.

To measure students' writing skill growth following the completion of a Baseline Diagnostic and recommended practice, you can assign a Growth Diagnostic. Completion of a Growth Diagnostic unlocks access to data reports that compare Baseline Diagnostic performance and Growth Diagnostic performance and even more recommended practice activities based on Growth Diagnostic performance.

Quill Connect guides students to combine multiple ideas into a single sentence. The prompts and targeted feedback help students advance from writing fragmented and run-on sentences to forming complex, well-structured sentences. Our Activity Summary and Activity Analysis reports allow you to keep track of students' improvement, response to feedback, concept mastery, and more!

Quill Proofreader teaches students editing skills by having them proofread text passages. Students edit the passages, review the results, and receive a personalized follow-up activity based on the demonstrated gaps in writing skills. Quill Grammar has over 200 activities to help your students practice basic grammar skills, from comma placement to parallel structure. Students receive targeted feedback on their responses to prompts, helping them strengthen their writing. Quill Lessons enables teachers to lead interactive whole-class or small-group writing instruction. Teachers control interactive slides that contain writing prompts, and the entire class joins the Quill Lesson to participate in discussions and respond to prompts. Provide students with nonfiction texts paired with AI-powered writing prompts, instead of multiple-choice questions, to enable deeper thinking. Students read a nonfiction text and build their comprehension through writing prompts, supporting a series of claims with evidence sourced from the text. As students write, Quill Evidence uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to provide immediate feedback to guide them through the revision process. This feedback will encourage students to refine their logical reasoning, clarify their ideas, and increase the specificity of their evidence. The feedback will also address their grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Quill challenges students to write responses that are precise, logical, and based on textual evidence, with Quill coaching the student through custom, targeted feedback on each revision.
