What is Quill?

Quill is a nonprofit, educational technology organization dedicated to improving student writing.

Updated over a week ago

Quill.org provides free literacy activities that build reading comprehension, writing, and language skills for elementary, middle, and high school students. Our 6 learning tools help students develop their sentence construction, grammar, proofreading, and critical-thinking skills. Quill activities are designed as supplemental writing exercises that students complete over short sessions at the beginning or end of a class period. Quill offers prompts and exercises and delivers instant AI-powered feedback to help students write, revise, and revise again until they are able to produce succinct, powerful sentences.

Quill is part of Empirical, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Quill's nonprofit mission is to now build both reading and writing skills through free, OER content across the curriculum. Over the coming years, we will be building a library of free ELA, social studies, and science activities that engage students in deeper thinking through writing prompts that provide immediate feedback.

We are constantly developing new activities, so make sure to check the site regularly to see what we come out with!
