Moving students to different classes will transfer their completed activities to the new class. The process depends on the type of student account and who is the owner of the new class.

Moving Manually Added Students

1) Click on the "Classes" tab

2) Click on the class the student is currently in

3) Select the student (or students) that you'd like to move

4) Click the "Actions" drop-down menu

5) Select "Move class"

6) Select the class that you'd like to transfer the student(s) to and check off the terms box

7) Select "Move Student"


Students were rostered through Google Classroom, and you would like them to be moved to another class that you own:

1) If the student is currently synced with your Google Classroom, you will see "Yes" underneath the "Synced" column in your "Classes" tab.

2) Remove the student from their original Google Classroom class

3) Return to Quill and click on your "Classes" tab

4)Click "Import Google Classroom students"

5) The student should now be unlinked from Google Classroom, which is indicated by "No" underneath the "Synced" column.

6) Click the three dots underneath the "Actions" column

7) Click "Move Class"

8) Select the class they need to be moved to, check the box, and click "Move student"


Students were rostered through Clever, and you would like them to be moved to another class that you own:

1) If the student is currently synced with Clever, you will see "Yes" underneath the "Synced" column in your "Classes" tab.

2) The student will need to be removed from your Clever class roster, please contact your school or district Clever admin for help.

3) Once that student is removed from your Clever roster, select the class they were originally in and click the "Import Clever classroom students" button.

4) The student should now be unlinked from Clever, which is indicated by "No" underneath the "Synced" column.

5) Click the three dots underneath the "Actions" column

6) Click "Move Class"

7) Select the class they need to be moved to, check the box, and click "Move student"


Move students to a class belonging to a different teacher:

Please fill out this Google Form, and notify us via support@quill.org so we can process your request. This form will ask you to give us the email of each student, the class code for the class they are currently in, and the class code for the class they should be transferred into. *All "completed" and "in progress" activities for those students will be transferred into their new class(es). Any activities that had not yet been started will not be transferred.
