Quill provides immediate, personalized feedback on each of our independent practice tools. Our feedback looks at the skills, concepts, grammar, spelling, and punctuation of the sentences students submit. Sometimes, students will receive feedback on sentences they believe they wrote correctly.
If students receive feedback, please ask students to check spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and spacing. Since our activities provide immediate feedback to student responses, student responses need to be exact. If there are additional spaces at the beginning or end of a sentence or more than two spaces between words, our algorithm can get confused and mark the answer incorrectly.
If you've checked their answer, and it is in fact correct, please email support@quill.org with the following information:
Name of the activity
Prompt or sentence the student was revising
Student’s username
Screenshot of the activity with the incorrect feedback (if available)
Screenshot of the Activity Analysis report with the incorrect feedback (if available)
Since we are an open-source nonprofit, we rely on our community of contributors to aid our algorithm in recognizing correct answers, as we train it to respond to all the sentences it sees.
Thank you for helping us improve Quill!
