FAQs

Why is no class showing up when I import classes or students from Clever?

To use Clever Library rostering, your Quill account must be correctly linked to your Clever account, and you must be listed as the primary teacher (owner) of the class in Clever. Your school or district's IT administrator must also have enabled Quill in the Clever dashboard. Co-teachers cannot import classes they don't own.

If your classes aren't showing up, try these steps in order:

  1. Confirm Quill is connected to Clever. Check your Quill account settings to verify the integration is active.

  2. Verify ownership. Log into Clever and confirm you're listed as the primary teacher for the class. If you're not, ask your school's IT admin to transfer ownership or update your roster.

  3. Confirm Quill is enabled in Clever. Ask your school or district's IT administrator to check that Quill is enabled for your account in the Clever dashboard.

  4. Clear your cache and cookies, then log out of Quill and log back in.

  5. Unlink and re-link your Clever account in your Quill account settings, then try the import again. If your Quill account is new, it might be helpful to delete and re-create the account, only if you don't have any legacy data you'd like to keep on Quill.

  6. Re-import students manually. If classes import but students don't, try manually importing students again from the Clever-synced class.

Still stuck? Contact support@quill.org with your class name(s), any co-teachers' emails, and a screenshot of your class roster in Clever. If you're on a school network, also ask your IT team to check that Quill isn't blocked by a firewall.

My Clever-synced students are missing or not updating. What should I do?

If newly added students are not appearing in Quill after syncing, double-check that you’ve used the Import Clever students option within the correct class. If students still don’t appear, confirm that they have been added in Clever and that your Clever integration is active. In some cases, your IT administrator may need to verify that Quill is properly enabled and authorized within Clever.
