How do students see their activity results?

Learn how students see their activity results in their accounts.

Updated over a week ago

In their accounts, students are able to see their activity results, which include the responses that they submitted for each prompt in an activity and the feedback that they received for each response that they submitted, for any independent-practice activity (Quill Grammar, Quill Connect, Quill Proofreader, or Quill Reading for Evidence) that they have completed. Read below to learn more about this feature.

Tip💡

Please note that students will not be able to see their activity results for Quill Diagnostics or Quill Lessons, except for the follow-up Quill Grammar or Quill Connect activities that follow Quill Lessons. Furthermore, please note that the activity results for Quill Reading for Evidence will not include percentage scores.

How do students see their activity results?

Students can see their activity results either from the Activity complete! page that they see immediately after completing an activity or from the Completed activities page in their Quill account. Read below to learn more about these two pathways.

How do students see activity results from the Activity complete! page?

When students complete an activity, they are immediately directed to the Activity complete! page. For any independent-practice activity (Quill Grammar, Quill Connect, Quill Proofreader, or Quill Reading for Evidence) that students have completed, they will see a View results button on the Activity complete! page.

Clicking the View results button will direct students to their activity results. Click here to read more about the activity results that students see.

How do students see activity results from the Completed activities page?

When students complete an activity, the activity will appear on the Completed activities page in their account. On the Completed activities page, students will find the activity for which they would like to see their activity results and click the View results button to the far right of the activity's name.

Clicking the View results button will direct students to their activity results. Click here to read more about the activity results that students see.

What activity results do students see?

When a student clicks the View results button for an independent-practice activity (Quill Grammar, Quill Connect, Quill Proofreader, or Quill Reading for Evidence) that they have completed, they will see their activity results.

How do students see their percentage score for an activity

If the student's teacher has turned on the setting that controls if students see their percentage scores, in the upper right corner of the page with their activity results, the student will see a percentage score for any independent-practice activity (Quill Grammar, Quill Connect, or Quill Proofreader) that they have completed. Please note that a percentage score will not show for Quill Reading for Evidence.

Tip 💡

Please note that regardless of whether teachers have turned the setting that controls if students can see their percentage scores on or off, students will still be able to see their activity results for the independent-practice activities (Quill Grammar, Quill Connect, Quill Proofreader, or Quill Reading for Evidence) that they have completed.

How do students see data for different replays of an activity?

If the student has replayed the activity, on the Completed activities page in their account, the student will see a blue circle with the number of times that they have completed the activity in the upper right corner of the square to the far right of the activity's name.

Furthermore, in the upper right corner of the page with their activity results, the student will see a dropdown menu from which they may select one of their replays and see the activity results for that replay. Please note that by default, the activity results for the replay with the highest percentage score will be reflected on this page unless the student selects another replay from the dropdown menu.

Tip 💡

Teachers can also view the data for any replays of an activity using the dropdown menu on a student's Activity Analysis report for an activity.

How do students see tips for reading activity results?

Directly below these dropdown menus, all students will see a Helpful Tips section with information about how to understand the activity results that they see.

What activity results do students see for each prompt in an activity?

For each prompt in an activity, a student will see the directions for the prompt, the prompt itself, and the relevant writing skill for the prompt.

Furthermore, students will see each response they submitted for each prompt in the activity.

When students submit an incorrect response, then the feedback that the student subsequently receives will be highlighted in yellow.

When students submit a revised response, the revision that they made will be bolded.

When students submit an incorrect response, then the feedback that the student subsequently receives will be highlighted in green.
