Learn how students can complete a Quill Lesson that they missed.

Quill Lessons are activities that are meant for instruction with a whole class or small group of students. However, if students miss a Quill Lesson, there are methods to ensure that the students practice the writing skill relevant to the Quill Lesson that they missed. Read below to learn about these methods.

Conduct the Quill Lesson with students who missed the Quill Lesson

If you have not yet marked a Quill Lesson as complete, you can launch and implementthe Quill Lesson with students who missed the Quill Lesson.

If you have marked the lesson as complete, you can assign the Quill Lesson to the students who missed the Quill Lesson and launch it with them.

To launch the Quill Lesson with the students who missed the Quill Lesson, please navigate to the Launch Lessons page in the My Activities tab.

Then, click the Launch Lesson button to the far right of the Quill Lesson's name.


Review the Quill Lesson plan with students who missed the Quill Lesson

Quill Lessons come with a plan that can be downloaded as a PDF and used to review the writing skill relevant to the Quill Lesson with students who missed the Quill Lesson.


Assign independent-practice activities to students who missed the Quill Lesson

In addition, teachers can assign independent-practice activities related to the writing skill relevant to the Quill Lesson to students who missed the Quill Lesson.

To browse Quill’s independent-practice activities, please navigate to Assign Activities tab and click the Explore all activities in our activity library card.

Then, in Quill's activity library, use the Search for concepts, activities, and more field and the menu of filters on the left side of the page to find independent-practice activities aligned to the writing skill relevant to the Quill Lesson that the student missed.
