How can I troubleshoot loading issues?
Updated over a week ago

Quill works best on the Google Chrome browser, which is available to download on your computer, tablet, or mobile device. We recommend keeping your version of Chrome up to date. If you are experiencing loading issues, our team has gathered a few tips to help you troubleshoot common issues.

I'm Unable to Use Certain Features

If you are able to log into Quill, but certain features are not working, such as importing Clever or Google Classroom rosters, please log out and log back into Quill. You can do this by clicking on your name in the top right corner of the screen and selecting โ€œLog out.โ€ This will refresh our connection with the platform and may fix the issue.

Quill Loads Slowly or Does Not Load

If the Quill page loads slowly or you are met with a completely blank page, first, ensure your internet connection is strong. If other pages load, and Quill is the only page affected, try clearing the cache on Chrome.

How to Clear The Cache On Chrome

Below is a step-by-step tutorial on clearing the cache on Google Chrome.

You can also click here to access Google's help article for up-to-date information.

  1. On your Chrome browser, click the three vertical dots in the top right corner.

  2. Click More Tools, and then Clear Browsing Data.

  3. Check the date range.

  4. Check the box next to Cached Images and Files.

  5. Click Clear Data.

Clear browsing data form with "Cached images and files" selected.

Re-load the Quill page (you may need to log in to your account again.) If clearing the cache did not fix the issue, the steps below may be helpful.

Banner at the Top of the Page Loads but Nothing Else

If clearing the cache did not work or you can only view the Quill banner at the top of the page, but nothing else, ensure that Javascript is enabled on the browser.

How to Enable Javascript

To enable Javascript on Google Chrome:

  • Open Chrome on your computer, then click the three vertical dots in the top right corner.

  • Click Settings.

  • Click Privacy and Security.

  • Click Site settings.

  • Scroll down the page to Content

  • Click JavaScript.

  • Select Sites can use Javascript.

Tip ๐Ÿ’ก If you reset the cache and enabled Javascript, but Quill still does not load, try to access Quill from another browser, such as Firefox, Safari, or Edge/Internet Explorer.

Firewall Issues

If the website still does not load after this, you may be experiencing a firewall issue. Please reach out to your IT department with the information listed in this firewall article.

Reporting a Bug

If you have found a bug on our website, please report it to us so our team can investigate as soon as possible. To help us solve the issue, we would be very grateful if you could help us by recording your screen so that we can see the bug.

To record you screen, click on the green bubble on the bottom right corner of your Quill screen, then click on the "Capture My Screen" button. This will allow you to record your screen without needing to install any software, and it will be automatically sent to our developers.

Capture my screen button highlighted on the Quill chat panel

If recording your screen through the "Capture my screen" is not possible, please email recordings or screenshots to support@quill.org, along with a description of the bug (email address of the affected account, names of activities or links to pages, date/time, and any other relevant details.)
