Approve Quill as a trusted third-party application

To ensure students can access Quill with their Google emails, your school/district Google Workspace administrator must verify Quill as a third-party application.

Your Google Workspace admin can follow the steps in here to configure Quill as a trusted app.

Tip πŸ’‘

Students might receive a 400: Access blocked error message while attempting to log in to Quill if the application has not been verified following the steps above.

How teachers set up their accounts

Before importing classes from Google Classroom, teachers need to ensure their Quill accounts are connected to Google. A teacher can:

Sign up for Quill with their Google account

To sign up for a Quill account with their Google account, a teacher will navigate to Quill's page to sign up for a teacher account and click the Sign up with Google button.

Link their existing Quill account to their Google account

Teachers with an existing Quill account can link it to their Google account by navigating to the My Account in the Home tab and scrolling to the Linked Accounts section.

If their Quill account is not yet linked to an integration, they can immediately link their Quill account to their Google account.

How teachers roster classes and students

After teachers have set up their accounts, they will roster their classes and students by importing them from Google Classroom. To do so, they will navigate to the Manage Classes page and click the Import from Google Classroom button.

When teachers import their classes and students from Google Classroom, each student imported from Google Classroom will automatically have a Quill account linked to their Google account, so students imported from Google Classroom will log into their Quill accounts by following the instructions here.

How teachers share links for activities to Google Classroom

One of the benefits of the Google Classroom integration is that teachers can share links for activities that they have assigned to their students in Google Classroom. To do so, teachers must first assign the activities to students. After assigning the activities, teachers can navigate to the Manage Activities page and click either the Share Activity Pack link for the activity pack containing the activities or the arrow icon for a specific activity.

Then, teachers will click the Share to Google Classroom button from the menu that subsequently appears.
