How to find your type of roster
Before adding students to your existing classes on Quill, you will first need to determine the type of the class's roster. To find this information, navigate to the My Classes tab.
To find the type of the class's roster, view the copy displayed below the class name.
If you see the copy, Clever, click here to see the steps for adding new students to this class's roster.
If you see the copy, Google Classroom, click here to see the steps for adding new students to this class's roster.

Add students to Google Classroom-synced classes
Tip 💡: If you'd like to import a new Google Classroom class to Quill, click here.
If you have imported a Google Classroom class into Quill and need to update this class's roster (add new students who have joined the class or remove students who have left the class), first, make sure that your roster in Google Classroom is updated.
Then, navigate to Quill's My Classes page, click on the name of the class that you'd like to update, and click the Import Google Classroom students button. New students who have been added to the Google Classroom class will be imported to the Quill class roster, and any students who have been removed from the Google Classroom class will be removed from the Quill class roster.

Add students to Clever-synced classes
Tip 💡: If you'd like to import a new Clever class to Quill, click here.
To add more students to a Clever-synced Quill class, first, make sure that students have been added to the class roster on Clever. Then, navigate to the My Classes page, click on the name of the class that you'd like to update, and click the Import Google Classroom students button. New students who have been added to the Clever class will be imported to the Quill class roster, and any students who have been removed from the Clever class will be removed from the Quill class roster.

How to add students to manually created classes
There are 3 options to add students to manually-created classes
1. Teacher Creates Accounts for Students
To add students to an existing manually created class, navigate to the My Classes tab, click on the name of the class to which you would like to add students, and click the Invite students button.
In the form that appears, select the second option, Create accounts for students.
Add each new student with their first and last name. After clicking the Add button, Quill will automatically generate a username and password for each of the new students.
After adding every new student, click the Next button at the bottom of the form, after which you can, optionally, click the Download PDF button to download a PDF to get a printable document with your students’ usernames and passwords.
2. Students Create Their Own Accounts and Join by Class Code
Students can also join your class by creating their own Quill accounts. They can simply go to quill.org, click the Sign Up button in the upper right corner of the page, and create an account with a username and password, with their Google account, or with their Clever account. Once the student has created an account, they will be prompted to enter a class code to join a class.

3. Students Create Their Own Accounts and Join by Link
To obtain a link to join your class that you can share with your students, navigate to the My Classes page, click on the class roster in the My Classes tab, and click the Invite students button.
In the form that appears, select the first option, Students create their own accounts.
You can then view the link to join this specific class. Share this link with your students via email, on a learning platform, or by writing it on your whiteboard. When students click this link, they will be prompted to create a Quill account and will be automatically added to your class.
Tip 💡
To log in to their manually created accounts, students should navigate to quill.org, click the Log in hyperlink at the top right of the page, and either enter their username and password, log in through their Google accounts, or log in through Clever accounts.
To view each student's account information, you can click the Download student log-in instructions button or view a student's respective field in the Log-in method column in your class roster.
