Assess student writing with a diagnostic
When you click on the Assess student writing with a diagnostic card, you'll see the list of Quill Diagnostics that Quill offers. Please click here to see a list of the Quill Diagnostics that Quill offers.
We recommend initially assigning a Baseline Diagnostic (Pre) to your students. After your students complete a Baseline Diagnostic (Pre), Quill will create a plan of practice recommendation activities for each student depending on their performance on the Baseline Diagnostic (Pre). Once students have completed all or most of their practice recommendation activities for the Baseline Diagnostic (Pre), we recommend subsequently assigning a Growth Diagnostic (Post).
Tip π‘
π A Baseline Diagnostic (Pre) is a pre-test and is intended to initially assess a student's writing skills so that Quill can create a plan of practice recommendation activities based on the student's performance on the Baseline Diagnostic (Pre).
β
π A Growth Diagnostic (Post) is a post-test and is intended to subsequently assess a student's writing skills after they have already completed the corresponding Baseline Diagnostic (Pre) and the practice recommendation activities associated with the Baseline Diagnostic (Pre). After a student completes a Growth Diagnostic (Post), Quill will create a plan of practice recommendation activities based on the student's performance on the Growth Diagnostic (Post). Please note that the practice recommendation activities for the Growth Diagnostic (Post) will be different from those for the Baseline Diagnostic (Pre). For this reason, a Growth Diagnostic (Post) will be locked until you have assigned its corresponding Baseline Diagnostic (Pre).
